Relaxing into Mindfulness

With Mindfulness trainer and Buddhist therapist Ulrike Müller-Glodde
(taught in English)

Many spiritual traditions recognize that relaxation is the first step towards a clear mind and an open heart. This weekend course will guide you in practices from traditions whose roots go back to India and Tibet which induce deep relaxation and which are easy to do at home and integrate into your daily life. So the message is: ‘do try this at home'!

Ulrike Müller-Glodde, our guest teacher for this weekend, is
a long-time meditator and student of Rob Nairn, an internationally sought-after meditation teacher who first instructed her in running Mindfulness Meditation courses. She went on to train as an MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction) teacher with founder Jon Kabat-Zinn and his colleagues. Meanwhile Ulrike has been a practitioner in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition of Akong Rinpoche for many years, and is now a qualified Tara Rokpa group therapist. This approach to self-healing has “a deep exploration of limitless compassion” at its heart and starts with a module called “Learning to relax”! What better place to start…

The programme, delivered by Ulrike and Clare together, will be tailored to the group, weaving together exercises from the Tara Rokpa, Yoga and Mindfulness traditions and including guided relaxation, meditation, breathing exercises and yoga, as well as exploring underlying principles. There will also be time for rest and personal reflection.
While the programme forms a good introduction to mindfulness, more experienced meditators and mindfulness trainers will benefit from Ulrike's experience and knowledge in a weekend that will take anyone adopting a 'beginner's mind' deeper into mindfulness.
